LEGAL NOTICE

GALLIA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

GALLIA-MEIGS REGIONAL AIRPORT

 

REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

The Gallia County Board of Commissioners, Gallipolis, Ohio, anticipates receipt of funds from the United States of America, through the Federal Aviation Administration; ODOT, Office of Aviation, or local sources, for improvements at the Gallia-Meigs Regional Airport.  It is anticipated that the proposed project will be accomplished over a period of up to five years beginning with Calendar Year 2008.  The proposed improve­ments shall consist of the following work:

  Provide environmental planning, permitting and mitigation assistance related to airport development.

  Provide land acquisition assistance, including, but not limited to, negotiations, settlements and other related tasks in connection with acquiring parcels necessary to implement the ALP.

  Prepare drawings, specifications, contract bid documents, cost estimates (including program form changes if required), construction testing and supervision for:

 

  • Rehabilitate/extend runway

  • Construct parallel taxiway

  • Construct hangars and hangar apron/taxistreets

  • Extend apron

  • Drainage/safety area improvements

  • Access road/vehicular parking

  • Obstruction removal

  • Environmental planning, permitting and mitigation engineering for airport development Airport Master Plan

  • Miscellaneous airport maintenance and improvements such as SRE acquisition, crack sealing and pavement markings.

  Qualified design professionals interested in being considered for this work are invited to submit a Statement of Qualifications for providing the engineering and planning required for the completion of this work within the guidelines of state and federal standards.  Submit 4 copies of the Statement of Qualifications, including a letter of interest, in an 8 ˝” x 11" bound format containing no more than 30 pages, not including separation/index pages or cover.  Strong emphasis will be given to the following criteria:  

  1. Familiarity with prevailing FAA regulations
  2. Capability to perform all aspects of the project and recent experience in airport projects comparable to the proposed project
  3. Professional background and caliber of key personnel
  4. Familiarity with the project and the airport

  A preliminary review of the qualifications of the firms will be undertaken. Additional information and/or a personal interview may be requested of the top ranked firms after the initial evaluation.  The firm with the best quali­fications will be invited to negotiate a contract.  If an agreement is reached, a contract will be entered into by both parties for some or all of the above work.  If no agreement is reached, the next highest ranking firm will be invited to negotiate, until a mutually agreeable contract has been established. Negotiation for subsequent services shall occur at the time those services are needed.

  The Gallia County Board of Commissioners will afford minority and women owned businesses equal opportunity to submit qualifications and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion or national origin.

NEWS RELEASE

             The City of Gallipolis wishes to announce that the Hedgewood Drive project will begin Monday, October 1.  The project includes moving dirt, fill and paving.

            The project is expected to last approximately two to three weeks depending on weather conditions.  Residents and citizens are to use an alternate route during this needed project.

NEWS RELEASE

             The City of Gallipolis wishes to announce that Waste Management will be the new contractor for the City’s recycling, solid waste collection and disposal effective October 1.

Refuse and recycling pick-up days will be Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.  Customers will be notified by mail of their collection day and of recycling guidelines.  Trash should be at the curb by 6 a.m. the day of service.

            The recycle bins customers currently have are the property of the City.  If a customer needs a recycle bin, they may pick one up at the Utility Office, Gallipolis Municipal Building, 518 Second Avenue.  Please call 441-6006 to notify the office that you will need a bin.
