The Gallia County enhanced 911 provides communication and dispatch support for the Gallipolis Fire Department. When a fire emergency is reported in our coverage area, the 911 center will set off pagers and the department fire bar to alert the members. The department uses a low band frequency for radio communication and dispatch. Each truck is equipped with a low band radio along with several of volunteers having radios in their personal vehicles. Each truck also has mobile hand helds in each truck. Each truck has the ability to communicate with the other fire departments in the county, mutual aid department outside the county, county EMS, local law enforcement, and many other local and state agencies. The department meets twice a month, with a business meeting being held on the second Tuesday of each month and a training meeting being held on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Each meeting is held at the training facility located next to station 1 at 2018 Chestnut Street. |
