Adult Protective Services The Gallia County Department of Job and Family Services is mandated by state law to receive and investigate all reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of individuals 60 years of age and older. The adult protective services worker will assess all such complaints, and if necessary, arrange or provide a wide variety of services to reduce or eliminate the endangerment of these at-risk adults. Emergencies are investigated within 24 hours, and all other reports within three working days. Anyone wishing to make a report should call the agency and ask to speak to an APS worker. Many referrals are made by area hospitals, home health agencies, families, friends, and neighbors. Reports may also be made anonymously. |
